Synovitis is an inflammation of a synovial membrane which lining the joint. Symptoms are
pain, particularly on motion, and swelling, due to effusion (fluid collection) within the joint.
This is an inflammation involving only synovium, not the joint cartilage. So, this is different
from osteoarthritis or DJD.
